Peggy's glass
art is sought by galleries nationwide. In addition her pieces
are held in both private and public collections nationwide. Her
process and style is innovative, unique and
fresh. This emerging artist is one of the "new" glass
artists today, and is one to watch.
Her creation of "Plasma
Fusion Glass" takes glass from the "Ordinary to the Extraordinary".
Glass outside the boundaries, so to speak. She continues to
push the envelope to create stunning new & unique
glass artworks. Using glass as her canvas, she
creates incredible works of art, combining fusing, slumping, deep
sandcarving, intaglio oil painting, and fine metal inlay.
She has developed a glass
process without limits, resulting in some of the most beautiful
and truly original glass art available today.
"Anything is possible", are
the words that she lives by, and teaches to her students from around
the globe. She challenges the old standards that many glass
artists live by. Instead she has used her finely honed skills to
create new methods of working with glass as a fine art
form.
PLASMA FUSION GLASS (Patent pending): Fusing, kiln forming, and
sandcarving glass are time honored processes. Combining all these
(and using the resulting object as a canvas) on which to apply oil
colors and fine metal inlay is a unique process developed by Ms.
Stewart. This is "Plasma Fusion Glass". Created at
GlassHopper Studio in Cave Creek Arizona (USA). Her years of glass
studies (and teaching) have allowed her to experiment with
confidence. "To me, the process I use is like making Cioppino
(or Gumbo, if you are from the South). You take everything you
have, and put it together into one".
She creates vessels,
sculpture and functional glass art using these processes. In
addition, she is a talented and experienced artist in all methods of
kiln formed & fused glass. She is also considered to
be one of the top glass sandcarvers in glass.

In September 2004, MIKE
STEWART joined the studio full time. Mike brings many
years of top engineering talents and skills to the studio. His
architectural creations are above and beyond today's
standards. Top designers bring their designs and ideas to
Mike, for him to create. In addition, he has created his own
beautiful sculptural (and functional) glass art designs.
Mike's understanding of
physics, chemistry, and engineering principles allow him to set a
new standard in creativity. Working together with his wife, Peggy,
will bring new and incredible glass art creations.
.....................................................
Peggy and Mike have a
daughter, Lisa (age 19), who is also an up and coming glass artist.
According to her mom, "Lisa has the ability and talent to surpass
all of us". |
